I have just bought a 1963 Alpine Mklll GT and would like to be able to take my grandson for a ride in it but it has no belts fitted and lokks as though none have ever been fitted. Can anyone advise me if I can have belts fitted profesionaly to both front and back seats.

My III GT came with front seat belts fitted. The mounts look as though they were put there in the factory. Have you looked behind the upholstery to see if there's anything there? I can take photos of mine if it would help.

Rears are a bit more difficult. I've got lap belts in the back of mine which I fitted myself but that's not really ideal.

I have found a company in North London who can supply and fit both the inertia front and 3 point rear belts.

I am having it done next week so I will let you know how it goes.

I posted a query about seat belts in December and I have since been unsuccessful in finding anyone who could fit belts to my Series II.

Could you let me know how you got on and who did the work?

This topic came up not so long ago. My answer is still the same; if it is a GT then find a pair of Securon Inertia Reel REAR seat belts type 254 or 264. 264 has a superfluous upper pillar anchorage you don't need (and you cut it off without damaging or disturbing the belt) but is slightly longer which may be useful if your size and shape means that the belt has a longer way to go.....
The reels adjust for any angle.
These are also OK for all SVs, but but folding hood box fitted to SI-IV will foul the reels.
I found mine on Ebay, unused.

The buckles are on 32cm webbing. Link the buckle ends of these with a black shoe-lace over the top of the tunnel, behind the cetre box lid, to stop them getting lost down the sides of the seats.

...... and Stafford Vehicle Components have them for £85 per pair.
The 514/30 may also fit (with the pillar loop cut off) but check the stalk floor mount is the right orientation.

Hi I have had both front and rear static lap and shoulder belts fitted into my MkIII GT and the company who did it made a fantastic job even if a little pricey the contact ifomation for this company follows
