I fitted my new soft top to my series v after a long delay but then found that this rubber strip which fits in a channel on the bottom of the peak-rail and hooks over the front of the leading edge had come unstuck on this edge! Could some kind person please tell me the correct adhesive to use before I start swearing at it.
Thanks to Gary Richards for the soft top installation artical in the Horn No. 176

No glue is used to attach the rubber seal at the front edge of the soft top (or hardtop for that matter). I doubt that you will find an effective and easily applied adhesive to stick rubber to vinyl or canvas over the whole length (but see below). The channel is usually sufficient to hold the rubber BUT there are usually two small nuts and csk head bolts (approx 3mm dia) (with small dished washers to protect the hood and rubber), one at each end. The bolt head is partially visible behind the rubber on the outside, and it bolts the rubber in place underneath. Look for the holes at the very ends of the metal header rail. They will be covered by the hood material so try searching with a pin! If you don't like this idea, I suggest using some super-glue to hold just the last 1/4" of the strip in the metal channel. But ensure that you clean all the moulding wax etc off the rubber, and clean the metal channel.
