Hi JC
I have been looking at this option lately with a view to getting 3.7:1 rear axle. I have been told that the Hunter and Arrow differentials will fit in the Series Alpines, but i dont know if you need to transplant the axles too. See the posting on the SAOCA website for more info.
Regards Chris

PS: Are there any UK based Rootes experts who would like to comment on this idea?

The Arrow axle will not fit an Alpine - too wide, different spring mounts and Lockheed rear brakes - but I also believe (but cannot absolutely confirm) that the Arrow diffs will fit the Alpine. Best way to check would be by part number.

We were talking diffs really not axles, but since you mentioned it, do you know how much wider is the later Hunter/Arrow axle? The Alpine rear track is a bit too narrow anyway, so wider may be a good thing provided that the wheel offets/widths are sensible, and wheel arches are trimmed/rolled back.
