I am having trouble getting a reasonable fit between the rear of the nearside front wing and the top curve of the door at the front. The new front wing as supplied goes to the vertical part of the door opening but doesn't carry on to where the edge of the windscreen fits at the top. Basically it is several inches too short. What was there before is totally rotted out. I have tried making up a panel but it doesn't fit well enough.
Does anyone have the top rear section of the nearside front wing available to buy? I need the section that goes from the seam where the wing joins the front scuttle round to the curve at the front top of the door and from beside where the windscreen edge bolts in and forward for several inches.
If you can assist please help me as I am desperate. If you can't sell me the part I would be grateful if I could use a piece as a pattern.

I am on 01277 824017 if you want to call. or

I can't supply the missing part, but can perhaps explain why it's missing:
1. You cannot get access to the flanges from underneath to spot-weld them together on a complete car. The scuttle and wings were joined as a sub-assembly before fitting to the car.
2. It's very difficult to include in a replica wing.

The missing part just fills in the gap. It has:
- a downward flange where it meets the scuttle, beside the screen.
- an external part which is visible from above/outside when the door is closed,
- vertical walls down the outside and rear edges
- a gutter from the base of the outside wall (but not the rear wall) which sits under the door and attaches to a horizontal panel underneath.
I would make the first 3 from one piece of 20g mild steel, then add the gutter separately, not least because this is how Rootes did it!
I recall that when I replaced my wings (in 1976!), I used glue and self tappers for the inner flange, with acces via temporary holes for a screwdriver in the outer vertical wall. You can MIG the rear edge, I think.

It should not be hard to make, but the forward edge will have to be joggled and later filled over where it meets the rest of the wing.
I could take a photo if you need it.

Photos would be helpful. The inner assmbly has been repaired/replaced and the wings are new. What I need is the outer 'skin' of the wing that is visible.

Here are 3 pictures of my car.
You can't tell from these but the rear edge of the wing rises as it goes inwards, and so does not match the door skin just behind it which is almost horizontal. Note also that in the Alpine Horn I received today, Andy Goldsmith has published two pictures of prototype bodies under construction. These show what's underneath the wing/scuttle subassembly. You can see the flange that the wing gutter sits on and is welded to.
When I was young in 1976, I decided not to weld the wings on where I could get bolts - to avoid corrosion originating where welding would burn any paint I might have applied. I'm not sure it's as strong, but it hasn't gone rusty yet!
