Hi I'm Mark

I Have a 1965 Alpine series IV. It has been fitted with a 1725 engine and gearbox with overdrive.
The problem I have is when driving, it does not stay in 4th gear, it keeps slipping back into neutral, all the other gears are fine.

Could this be a problem linkage or the gearbox...I would apprieciate the advice.

In my opinion, its probably the gearbox itself. The selector forks may be worn, and/or ball retention springs weak/worn/broken. I dont think the linkage can be adjusted to rectify it. Hope I am wrong.
